Sick and tired of hearing your friends that your house is aging? If you’ve been constantly hearing those comments, then welcome 2015 with a bang aimed to make your house fabulous and appealing. Here are some random tips you can reasonably do at your own pace and time.
Freshen up with plants
Adding some greens and a few ornamental plants in a certain house part is always refreshing. Added or placed inside or outside of the house will certainly impart a fresh new look. And while they are doing that, do you know that the plants are also actually helping lessen the amount of stress that life has been imposing on you. Plus, there are also environmental and health benefits too!
Take out what’s not needed!
Do you know that your house has actually become a depository of junk and other trash-to-be things with the years that have passed? You might not realize this, but it is actually occurring. See for yourself. Head on to your closet and perform a personal raid on wardrobes and outfit you haven’t use for long. They might just be collecting dust. Check your shelves for books and magazines which could be put to better use when donated to your community library. Free up some space o your drawers for memorabilia items which might be better-looking on your walls.
Give some tweak to your old furniture.
If you have ever thought of retiring your decade-old furniture, give it a second thought – or maybe third. Not only will you be missing your chance of nurturing a possible antique piece. You will also miss the golden opportunity of reinventing it. Foe instance, your old chair – already peeling of its paint, can have a second life. Grab a spray paint and do its course of giving the chair a new color. You can also do the same for other furniture pieces like table. If you want a natural look, varnish is the better choice.
Light up your house
Pretty sure you have some lighting fixtures in parts of your house. Yet, if despite turning them on makes you feel it is still dim or dark – then you need to light up your house some more. There are different types of lighting fixtures which you can install depending on the surface you want to illuminate. Yet, the more useful ones tend to be desk lamps which you can use on your compute table. You should have one for your kid’s study table too.
The New Year should not only be the start of new things for an individual. It is also time to assess your house of how it has looked for the past year or years to determine what changes you need to do.
