In this article we will examine some reasons why purchasing a condominium instead of a house may be the right choice for you. In actuality there are several reasons it is an excellent choice. However; we will also mention a couple of disadvantages as well, in order to give you a better prospective on condos. Then you can make a fully informed decision for yourself.
One thing to consider right off the bat is: does your lifestyle seem to change from time to time? Do you move around a lot? Are there any significant changes in your family life that are about to take place (such as a divorce or a separation period?) Are your children moving out of the house, causing you not to need a large one? Are you looking forward to NOT having a yard or amenities to maintain?
Speaking of amenities, there are a plethora of those to enjoy in a condo community. Amenities like a pool, a fitness center, sometimes tennis courts, some type of clubhouse, lush green lawns, and lots of trees and shrubbery. Then there are frequently some high-end features INSIDE the condo such as gourmet kitchens, wooden floors and cabinets, vanity and countertops made with granite. Newer condo complexes are being developed with enhanced sound proofing building materials in each unit to greatly reduce the noise level for its residents. So even though a condo owner is in a complex with hundreds of other people, they will feel as though they live in their own private piece of paradise.
Living in a condominium complex can provide residents with a convenient and virtually trouble-free existence. It is perfect for people who cherish the outdoors but do not want the hassles of maintaining a large yard. They typically have patios/terraces or; in the case of high-rise condo buildings, a green space on the rooftop. Condo complexes are also typically located with easy and fast access to shopping centers and supermarkets, in addition to restaurants and shops and all sorts of offices and/or other job-related facilities.
Some cons of living in a condo complex include (in the majority of condo locations) having to comply with strict rules set forth by the complex board. Also; although noise-reduction features are now commonplace in condo complexes, there is still a certain amount of noise you must put up with if you live in one. Additionally, space is usually at a premium. So if you have a large family and/or a lot of items you will need to store, odds are a condo will NOT accommodate you.
Ultimately the choice is up to you. Only YOU can answer all of your own pertinent questions and determine whether condo living is the right choice for you. However DO NOT count it out automatically until you have completely examined all cons and pros of living there. You may well find that living in a condo is a perfect choice for you.
